Another dish that is fantastic for a cold day or if you just need some comfort food. This recipe is super easy and requires minimal work.
CHICKEN POT PIE
PREP: 15 min. COOK: 45 min. TOTAL: 1 hr.
INGREDIENTS:
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 cup chicken broth
2/3 cup milk
3 cup cooked, shredded chicken
1 package frozen mixed vegetables
1 package Texas Pie Dough Puck®
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400º.
Melt butter in a large skillet. Add onion and cook until tender.
Add flour, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring, until blended, creating a roux.
Slowly add chicken broth and milk, cooking and stirring until thickened and bubbly.
Stir in chicken and frozen vegetables.
Follow directions on Texas Pie Dough Puck® package and roll out the dough.
Spoon mixture into a pie pan lined with crust. Top with second crust; seal and flute edges. Cut slits in crust.
Bake at 400° for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cover edges with foil to prevent over-browning.
Bake for an additional 15 minutes.
Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
